The lower ground floor of this substantial building in Piccadilly was drastically altered to accommodate the change of use to a restaurant and bar. The structural design was made all the more important by the constant occupation of the upper floors by offices that could not be disturbed.

The construction programme on this project was very tight so design alterations to the permanent works had to be carried out quickly and efficiently. The temporary works design that GSE undertook on behalf of the contractor needed to be robust to pass the careful scrutiny of the landlord’s engineer whilst still being practical to install and work around.

GSE was selected to undertake a pivotal role in the design and implementation of the steel supporting structure for the captivating glazed storefront at the Oasis Store, located within the bustling Westfield White City shopping center. Our team of experienced structural engineers embraced the opportunity to showcase their expertise in crafting a robust and aesthetically pleasing support system that would not only enhance the store’s visual appeal but also ensure its structural integrity and safety.

Through careful analysis and precise engineering, we devised an innovative steel framework that seamlessly integrated with the store’s architectural design, providing the necessary strength and stability to support the large glass panels and showcase the merchandise within.

Formerly known as the Pelican Pub, the esteemed premises underwent an extensive and transformative renovation, spanning two floors, to give rise to the magnificent and reimagined Tommy Tucker Pub and restaurant. The architectural vision behind the transformation harmoniously blends contemporary aesthetics with elements that pay homage to the rich history and heritage of the original Pelican Pub.

With meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to creating an exceptional dining experience, the existing layout was substantially altered and reconfigured. Every element of the design was thoughtfully considered, from the captivating interior ambiance to the seamless flow of space, ensuring that patrons can enjoy a truly memorable culinary journey.
