Why did you choose a career in Structural Engineering?
I enjoyed Maths and Physics back in school and also have an interest in engineering and building. Therefore, Structural Engineering seemed like a good fit for me.
What has been the most memorable moment for you?
Seeing my design in real life for the first time.
What has been the most challenging part?
The learning curve, applying everything from university into real-life application was difficult initially.
What do you like most about your job?
Learning something new everyday.
What’s the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?
Back yourself and not be too harsh on yourself.
What’s your favourite structure in the world?
The Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
And lastly, what is one piece of advice you would give to someone starting out in Structural Engineering?
Absorb as much information from people around you when staring off and from there you can develop yourself with your own style/thinking. Don’t be afraid to ask questions.
