Project Summary:
Residential scheme for 9 units over archaeologically sensitive ground
Residential – Castle Moat
Green Structural Engineering have been appointed by Broadwing Homes to provide structural and civil design for this new development of five apartments and four townhouses.
The site is located on land of significant archaeological interest, meaning the drainage, access roads and foundations all had to be designed around part of an ancient moat and Bailey Castle across the site. This proved to be a very challenging exercise.
The superstructure to the scheme is designed using traditional construction with a top floor in light weight steel to limit the weight. This assisted in the foundation design and working around the areas of archaeological interest
