GSE had the privilege of being entrusted with an exceptional project for a private client, which encompassed the construction of a magnificent 420m² basement featuring an exquisite swimming pool. Collaborating closely with the architects, our goal was to bring their vision to life by incorporating numerous large light wells throughout the basement. These light wells were strategically designed to flood the space with an abundance of natural light and provide optimal ventilation, creating an inviting and refreshing environment.

Throughout the project, GSE’s experienced team of structural engineers collaborated closely with the architects, leveraging their collective expertise to address the unique challenges presented by the project. The design and implementation of the light wells required careful consideration of structural integrity, ensuring that the surrounding structures and foundations were properly reinforced to support the desired architectural features. Our meticulous attention to detail and commitment to delivering structural excellence ensured that the project met and exceeded the client’s expectations.

Green Structural Engineering was entrusted with a remarkable project that involved the construction of a basement beneath a captivating terraced property nestled on a popular street in Fulham. The addition of the basement not only expanded the available space but also introduced a new dimension to the property’s functionality and value.

In addition to the basement construction, the ground floor underwent a remarkable transformation, undergoing a comprehensive remodeling and substantial extension. GSE collaborated closely with Hogarth, the visionary designer behind the project, to bring their design intent to life. The result is a ground floor that showcases a harmonious blend of contemporary aesthetics and functional elegance, perfectly tailored to meet the demands of modern living. The renovation process involved a comprehensive revamp of the existing spaces, incorporating contemporary finishes, fixtures, and fittings that enhance the overall ambience and create a seamless transition from the ground floor to the upper levels.

Green Structural Engineering had the privilege of being involved in a prestigious project at a high-end property in Kensington, where we undertook the comprehensive structural design for the basement, extension, and internal renovation. Collaborating closely with the talented architect, our team at GSE meticulously developed the design to bring the architect’s vision to life, ensuring that the desired open spaces, finishes, and aesthetics were achieved to perfection.

Our role in this project extended beyond the design phase, as GSE also took on a site supervision role during the structural construction works. With our experienced team on-site, we provided invaluable oversight and guidance to ensure the seamless execution of the structural aspects of the project. This hands-on approach allowed us to maintain strict quality control, ensuring that the structural elements were implemented according to the approved design, and any unforeseen challenges were promptly addressed with innovative solutions.

The Rudges

Green Structural Engineering is thrilled to be involved in the proposed construction project, which entails the development of a single-storey residential building adjacent to an existing house. This expansion plan also incorporates a partial basement, ingeniously situated beneath the hillside section of the house.

The architectural design of the new structure is influenced by two key factors: the substantial footprint area it occupies and the sloped profile of the ground. These aspects have served as driving forces for the design team to create a slightly stepped structure, featuring varying levels between the ground floor and roof. By carefully analysing the site’s topography, GSE will develop a robust structural design that optimises both functionality and aesthetics. The stepped configuration of the building will not only harmonise with the natural slope but also enhance the visual appeal of the overall design.

Little Marsh

The project at little Marsh is a great way to showcase true sustainability and the enhancement of biodiversity through the use of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS).

Situated on a site characterised by a diverse combination of permeable and impermeable strata, alongside a high groundwater table, our team seized this opportunity to design a truly holistic approach that incorporates various SuDS components. One of the standout features of the design is the inclusion of “natural pools” strategically placed throughout the site. These pools not only serve as visually captivating elements but also play a crucial role in water management, providing a habitat for aquatic life while promoting groundwater recharge and reducing the risk of flooding. Recognising the importance of responsible water usage in agricultural practices, we incorporated groundwater and surface water harvesting systems into the design. By capturing and utilising these water sources, we not only reduce the demand on mains water supply but also contribute to sustainable agricultural practices, fostering a more resilient and self-sufficient approach to farming.
